Bringing Old Tobacco To Life
Updated: Sep 18, 2019
I was shopping last Fall in Perth, Ontario in an antique shop when I came across this little box of Revelation tobacco.

Revelation was made by House of Windsor, and was reputed to be a blend that Albert Einstein smoked on occasion.
I was inspired by this article written by Gregory Pease where he outlines his own particular experiment with rejuvenating old tobacco.
Armed with this information, along with a bowl and a clean towel, I will attempt to put some more springy life back in to this blend and report back on how it went!
I had to soak the towel once again before going to sleep last night. I woke up this morning to check on the progress and removed the almost damp towel and ran my hands through the tobacco - lo and behold, it was moist! In fact, it was now ready for sampling!
The tobacco had 'puffed up' a bit more. The aroma is a little more strong, but that's no guarantee of flavour.
I will load a bowl up soon and report back on how it went. I think I'll be using my current favourite English blend pipe; my Peterson silver spigot.
