I was inspired by Emma Fontanella’s design on top of her home-baked apple pie, and just had to try it out myself.
In this video, she shows you how this recipe can be done, along with the full recipe.
I followed her video and the recipe and it turned out terrific.
I chose to use Granny Smith apples and MacIntosh apples for the recipe. Be sure to add the apple cider vinegar to the crust as she shows you to do. This adds a bit of tartness in the best place for it so it doesn't counteract with the apple mixture, which in this recipe is the perfect balance of salty 'n sweet due to the sugar and salt additions.
